So its been a while since i have posted anything (wow its just sad when your life is so crazy that you don't even want to write about it because it will make it that much more real and undeniable...deniability is where its at) and my blog and my UFOs are screaming at me to get so attention so in the spirit of all the what's on your needles _____days out there here is a quick catchup on mine
1. dream in colors shawl - well i put it down for a really long time because a) it was making me frustrated and b) working on size 11 needles really hurts my hands...but now i picked it back up and well after a few false starts (i forgot that you purl all even rows...enough said) and a jump down in needle size ( i have convinced myself i just knit looser now...i know i am going to needle gauge hell) i have done a few more rows and now it sits on my side table mocking me
2) Woodland Shawl for my grandmother - this is going along fairly well other then the fact that grandma is supposed to get here in about 13 days. I was moving along at a good clip but then things in life went nuts, my brain exploded and well..... but before that i had about 3 feet of it done, almost done with the ball of yarn and i will need to start another one before its done...need to try russian join as its a silk blend yarn. Will be carrying this one around with me so it can mock me from my backpack/purse/bag...must finish soon, 82 year old grandma flying in from china in less than 2 weeks
3. Sister in Law's birthday present - yet another deadline project...got about 3 feet of this one done during horrible hospital nights but then stopped working on it as the pressure for grandma's shawl built up. I figure i have till July so right now this is losing priority to the June deadline
4. candle flame scarf - have almost a foot of this done, made a few mistakes here and there but have semi fixed it so although ugly it will not unravel (yes cause that's what's important, not the prettyness but the indestructibleness of the ugly) Quite frankly its lost somewhere in my house/room/car and i haven't seen it in a few weeks
5. First sock - to be honest it is really ugly and right now i hate it. i have decided that the leg is finished because i can't stand to work on it anymore (its brown, hot pink and neon green...what the hell was i thinking. oh and i have laddering going on and also holes from random yarn overs i knitted and then later fixed by awkward decreases). But i am not giving up on this, i will make it into a whole sock even if it is only one sock. Problem is now i am ready to start the heel and not only have i not decided whether to do short rows or heel flap + gusset, i also have no idea how to do either
So yes all in all the knitting continues slowly but surely

Sounds like you have a lot on your hands! I can definitely relate - between work, my photography business, and side projects I do for friends and family, it gets REALLY hectic! But I suppose that's what life is all about...
