and they drop the C bomb

Yeah that's right, as if things weren't already going to shit.

They did an MRI and xray on this left thigh, the side with the hip injury that he had been complaining about and was on vicodin for going on 3 weeks...well finally after i badgered the surgeon that had operated on his foot he finally caved and ordered the MRI and x ray himself admittedly not expecting to find anything...

well they found something. he has something in the middle of his femur that has eroded through part of the bone. We are still hoping its infection considering the other infections we have but well there are a few points against that

1. its weird to have an infection in the middle part of a bone, infections tends to go to either end of the bone because that is where the blood is

2. it looks an awful lot like a certain type of bone cancer that strikes young people though the argument against that is that he is too old, but considering they classify young people as being 20 years old or younger, and DH is 26, he is not exactly out of the woods

3. he has been sweating profusely for about a week and a half now, with no fever...i kept pointing this out and the nurses kept telling me not to worry about it because its probably has to do with the infection, nevermind the fact that it doesn't make too much sense as well HE HAD NO FEVER! well i brought it up to the doctor only to have him say "oh wow how interesting" because apparently profuse sweating like that is one of the major symptoms of leukemia or Hodgkin's disease which are both in the pool of suspects right now.

so the plan is to biopsy the thigh though they have to be super careful as any and all of the potential options of what the hell it is makes it extremely dangerous to biopsy because of the risk of infection. Oh and we are worried that the femur might just snap or shatter at any time despite the bed rest...needless to say that would just bring an extra world of doom

they are now checking the rest of his body and bones for abnormalities...still haven't seen doctors though xray tech mentioned that he saw a healed break in his ribs though neither me, DH or MIL can remember him ever having had a broken rib. Hoping that he just had a hairline fracture that he wasn't aware of and that its not a further bone abnormality.

oh and for those who come here for knitting content i have began to master the art of knitting in very very low light and perhaps eventually i will be able to both read and knit in the dark

Wow. I'll be keeping you and your husband in my thoughts and prayers. I do hope that the biopsy results are better than anticipated.

OH. MY. GOD. you poor thing, and your husband, i can't imagine.

all i can do is offer my prayers.

god damn, that is JUST insane. you know, nancy, cancer treatment (if we're even going there) has really come far...

good luck, and keep us posted.

oh, and a word of advice, DON'T SEARCH THE INTERNET for symptoms. you can't self-diagnose and it will only freak you the hell out. good luck.
